Bruce Hammond, Founder
Before founding GrowthPoint Inc. in 2003, Bruce was President of the North American Automotive and Robotics Division of ABB Corporation, one of the world's largest automation manufacturers. As president, Bruce grew the business 43% in a down market by tightly aligning sales resources with the targeted segment buying cycle. The result was the ability to deliver solutions in a highly competitive market. During this time he also lowered overhead costs by 30% utilizing continuous improvement methodologies, including Lean Six Sigma.
Previous experience includes 24 years at Rockwell Automation and Allen-Bradley, where Bruce held positions in operations, sales, alliance management, channel development and sales process management in multiple business units. He also managed the implementation of a comprehensive point-of-sales and CRM system implementation. During this time, Bruce built a reputation of aligning the company to key customer segments and building processes which continually improved financial performance of the organization.
In his last role at Rockwell, Bruce was VP of the Process Business, one of four key growth areas for the company. In this role he grew the business at a 32% CAGR by focusing resources on the defined target and implementing an integrated marketing and sales effort.
Joyce Hammond, Finance / HR
Joyce Hammond has 20+ years of HR and Finance/Accounting experience in both private and public sectors. This includes being involved in start-ups, managing university research offices, environmental consulting, charitable organizations as well as marketing services.
Teri Mollison, Marketing Services
Teri Mollison is a marketing/sales strategist and media specialist. She has more than 20 impressive years of experience in sales and leadership positions in business-to-business and enthusiast market media. If you ask her, she'll say that "the business of business" is her passion – especially industry. At Penton Media, Teri was Group Publisher of IndustryWeek; American Machinist; Welding; Material Handling Management; Logistics Today; Foundry Management & Technology; Metal Producing & Processing; Forging;and Quick Manufacturing News. In that capacity, she directed development of all sales promotions including eMedia, webinars, trade shows, conferences, advertising and collateral materials and launched several websites and social media sites.
Prior to Penton, Teri spent several years as Midwest Region Advertising Director for Inc. magazine, running the Detroit and Chicago offices. Before that, she was a sales representative for Fortune magazine in Detroit where she called on domestic automakers and large industrial corporations across Northern Ohio. Teri attended both Michigan State University and the University of Detroit-Mercy. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism/Communications from the U of D.
Liz Smith, Marketing Services
Liz Smith is a marketing specialist who comes from an engineering and manufacturing background. Prior to transitioning from engineering into marketing, she spent several years in manufacturing engineering and management positions at Eaton Aerospace. While managing engineers in the weld, braze, heat treat, bending and metal finish departments, she was focused on developing and implementing joining and fabrication processes using lean manufacturing principles for continuous improvement.
Liz earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Michigan State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Weld Engineering from The Ohio State University.
Liz is a problem solver at heart, and is driven by metrics. She attributes much of her success in manufacturing to the fact that everything is so easily measurable “it allows you to constantly adjust your tactics based on what is or isn’t working”. At GrowthPoint, she takes this same approach to marketing. She understands the importance of processes, measurement and continuous improvement for every marketing strategy.
Wayne Madden, Marketing Services
Wayne is an engaging and passionate business development and marketing/sales professional with a successful history of working with business owners, sellers, and marketers to create positive results. Wayne is at his best when collaborating on innovative and creative business solutions and welcomes the challenges of staying ahead of the curve to execute those new solutions. Most recently, Wayne was Vice President, Sales Development at Penton Media, where he developed sales strategies, analytic tools, sales education materials, and sales training offerings that were successfully deployed across all their markets. Prior to that position, Wayne held various senior publishing leadership positions at Penton managing brands across multiple industries including broadcasting (Broadcast Engineering, Radio), professional audio and video (Sound & Video Contractor, millimeter, Digital Content Product, Mix, ReMix, Electronic Musician), telecommunications (Telephony, Connected Planet), finance (Business Finance), and technology (NEWS 3X/400, System iNEWS, Information Management, ePro).
During his 23+ year career at Penton, Wayne was known for his passion, creativity, and innovation in nurturing new ideas and opportunities for his team and his customers. He was pivotal in developing and/or nurturing new marketing ideas as they emerged, such as eNewsletters, lead nurturing, real-time lead delivery, webinars, eLearning, gated and paid web content, website memberships, sponsored eBooks, and many other custom digital marketing initiatives. Executing marketing that creates real results in something that Wayne thrives on, and as a former author himself, Wayne certainly understands the power of the right content in creating the right bridge between buyers and sellers.
Prior to the media business, Wayne already had established a successful career in IT, serving in various leadership roles in the manufacturing, government, and reseller sector as well as writing hundreds of IT-related articles, three books, and speaking often at industry events and conferences all over the world.
Rob Puleo, Video
Rob Puleo is a freelance professional communicator focused on designing solutions that inform, engage and activate audiences. He has over 20 years experience producing broadcast, non-broadcast and integrated media solutions for corporate, industrial and non-profit organizations.
Rob spent over 10 years in a Fortune 500 environment as an executive producer and manger of video operations. He is a 12-time Telly Award winner and a member of the Telly Silver Council, which judges the very best local, regional, cable, video, film and web productions from around the world. With production experience in nearly all 50 states, Canada, Mexico, and Europe Rob has producer and director credits that include McDonald’s, ESPN, The Cleveland Browns, & Cisco Systems. In 2005 AV Multimedia Producer Magazine named Rob one of the Top 30 corporate producers in the nation.
Joel Clermont, Software Developer
